An epic and rare cluster of Illinois Fluorite from the Crystal mine featuring yellow, blue, and purple phantoms as well as chalcopyrite inclusions.
When viewed from the top of the phantom line you can also see a rather astonishing phantom effect called a “Frenkel defect” which is showing selective discoloration along the corner.
This specimen is an astonishing example of this locality, which is part of the notorious Crystal Victory Defender Complex, and a rare example of the Rosiclare Level, an area of the locality which featured blue toned specimens. Very few of these have survived the years since this level of this locality has been closed.
