A rainbow of Covellite crystals, flanked by Pyrite from the iconic Leonard Mine in Butte, Montana. The prominent purple, red, and blue colors are accented exceptionally well by the bright gold Pyrite, appearing as a stripe of contrasted metallic colors.
 
Covellite is a Copper Sulfide that is rarely aesthetic and well crystallized, often sought for its unique "dark metallic" series of colors (especially purples and blues, but rarely red). It can be difficult to find pieces which have a good color vibrancy and luster simultaneously.
