Tsumeb Mine is located in the town of Tsumeb which is located in the Otjikoto Region in Nambia. Easily the most famous collecting locale in Namibia, especially for copper secondaries, this locale originally opened as a commercial mine for copper in 1907. It has been closed now since 1996. This locale has an amazing variety of minerals having 292 verified species found there, 72 of which are type-locality minerals. The locale was worked to 1000 meters before it shut down and the variety of specimens it produced will likely never occur again.
