Tourmaline (Var. Elbaite) - Paprok Mine, Afghanistan.
An Elbaite from the classic Paprok locale in Afghanistan. Many of the tourmaline from Paprok has a transition of pink to green but to be what is widely considered a "watermelon" tourmaline it should feature the pink core with a green "rind" aesthetic. This specimen shows a fantastic and ideal Watermelon Tourmaline color zoning, making for a great collection piece. The specimen has minor edge wear that is not distracting from the aesthetic. This piece is also pretty translucent which allows the color to glow very well and the luster is quite fantastic as well.
