Manganoan Smithsonite - Tsumeb Mine, Namibia
This is a beautifully formed and unusually well defined Smithsonite from the classic Tsumeb locale. This piece is vibrantly colorful and shows an articulate aesthetic not often seen in Smithsonite specimens from any locale. The unusually large trigonal crystals even feature sublte phantoms. Smithsonite is a Zinc Carbonate which can be famously diverse in appearance based on envrionment and impurity, Tsumeb may well have the largest diversity at a single locale. This specimen makes a fantastic example of the locales Manganoan form.
