Fluorite with Calcite - Denton Mine, Illinois.
This is a large (12 cm) plate of Fluorite from Illinois. It features a beautiful range of colors as well as perfectly contrasting, doubly terminated, rhombohedral Calcites. The Fluorite has a candy-like luster and is free of damage. The specimen is a floater (it's crystallized all the way around with no contact point) and shows very intricate stepped growth in many areas. The Fluorite also features delightful phantoms which go into a beautiful yellow core. You'll likely notice some of the textures and feature images on our website use sections of this Fluorite.
