Fluorite with Baryte - Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Tennessee.
Approx. Measures: 12 x 8.5 x 8 cm.Ex: Rob Austin Collection. This was in the collection of Rob Austin, who was the mining geologist that sunk the Elmwood, Gordonsville, and Cumberland mine shafts in the famous Carthage area in Tennessee. He collected many amazing specimens for his collection, and generally they were special in some way. This exceptional piece is rather large and has an amazing magenta hue to the purple freckling across the specimen. It has sharp and glossy carthage corners, as well as a lovely Baryte barrette at one corner. This specimen also has a custom routed base for it to stand upright in!
